Hispanic Heritage Month | #LatinxBookBingo and #LatinxAthon TBRs

Hi friends! It’s been a bit since my last post. I do apologize for that, work has been overwhelmingly busy. I’m not going to go into a life update though, I’ll do that in a video sometime this weekend. Right now, I’m excited to share my reading plans for Hispanic Heritage Month which will run from September 15th to October 15th. Usually I approach this challenge just by reading Latinx authors as much as possible. However, this year there are two Latinx readathons that are making their debut that I’m super excited to participate in. First I’ll share the information for both readathons and then I’ll share my TBR with you.

Latinx Book Bingo – This will run for the entirety of Hispanic Heritage Month. This is a bingo board based challenge that looks like so much fun. I can’t wait to see how many bingos I can manage to complete.

LatinxAthon – The LatinxAthon is a week long reading challenge that will run from September 22nd to September 29th. There are five challenges.

1. VOICES Read a book featuring an Indigenous or Afro-Latinx MC or written by an Indigenous or Afro-Latinx author.

2. PRIDE Read a book featuring a queer Latinx MC or written by a queer Latinx author.

3. ROOTS Read a translated book or a book featuring more than one language (i.e. with a bilingual MC).

4. HERITAGE Read a book written by an author from a non-Spanish speaking Latin American country (or heritage).

5. LATINIDAD Read the group book, Itzá by Rios de la Luz.

Now let’s get into the books! I’m going to try my best to complete as many challenges as I can with my TBR that I had planned for Hispanic Heritage month. I’ll be sure to post some updates and let you know how my progress is going.

Click on the book title to go to the Goodreads page for each book to find out what it is about. I also created a shelf on my Goodreads page with the Latinx books I’d like to read that I will be selecting from if I manage to get through the following books.
