Happy Friday book nerds!
Today I felt like doing something a bit lighthearted so…why not a tag? I saw this one going around BookTube and it looked like a fun way to share some non-bookish things about me. I decided since I just did a tag on Thursday on my channel that I’d do this tag on the blog.
I wasn’t tagged by anyone to do this tag. I just thought it looked like a good way to share more about me. The originator of the tag is a ReaderRot.
1. Name a cartoon(s) that you love?
When I was a kid I used to love watching Rainbow Brite, My Little Pony and the CareBears. I don’t really watch cartoons anymore, unless you count animated movies? If so, then my favorites are UP and Finding Nemo.
2. What is your favorite song right now?
“Something Just Like This” ~ The Chainsmokers & Coldplay
I can just sit and listen to it on repeat.
3. What could you do for hours (that isn’t reading)?
I like to color or journal while I watch Netflix or listen to music.
4. What is something you love to do that your followers would be surprised by?
Online role-playing games! I haven’t played in a while, but I was into Guild Wars. I just don’t have time to be a dedicated player right now.
5. What is your favorite unnecessarily specific thing to learn about (this can do with books, I guess)?
I like to learn about different arts & crafts. I suck at most of them, but hey it’s fun. I really like making my own bookmarks and other paper crafts. I used to be into beading and making jewelry, but I kept accidentally stabbing myself with the needle so I decided to try other things. I also have an unhealthy (bordering on hoarding) collection of washi-tape, stencils, colored pens, markers, colored pencils, and other paper crafting supplies. I might be addicted…maybe.
6. What is something unusual you know how to do?
I don’t know about unusual, since everything I do feels pretty normal to me. I’m not very unique, I’m kind of a boring homebody actually.
7. Name something you’ve made in the last year (and show us, if you can)?
I don’t really make things. When I was a teenager I was into cross-stitching for a while. I’d love to learn how to knit. I’m thinking of taking a class so I can make some kick-ass scarves. Okay, not kick-ass because I’ll most likely be terrible at it. Who cares! I’ll still wear them next year. 🙂
Oooh or maybe a class on how to make folded book art! That would be cool, but totally book related so maybe that doesn’t count for the tag.
8. What is your most recent personal project?
I’m slowly updating my wardrobe. I just got some new tops, next on my list are pants/capris/shorts etc. This is actually huge for me because I hate clothes shopping. I hate it!
9. Tell us something you think about often (maybe while staring out of windows)?
Lots of things, but mostly I like to have inner rants in my head. I tend to keep my thoughts to myself most of the time. When I do speak out most people interrupt and dammit it is exhausting to try and have a conversation with those people. Why have people lost the art of listening?!! Anyway here are some random things that go on about inside my head:
*Why are some people so rude? Also why must people always talk over me? I know I’m soft-spoken, but that doesn’t mean I don’t have something to contribute to the discussion.
*Why can’t people actually communicate with each other and have rational conversations instead of getting into fights on social media?
*Why is the government so obsessed with what I do to my body? I’m not an incubator or a baby-making machine!
*What the hell is the point? Like what is my purpose in life? Mostly because I don’t feel like I’m fulfilling it.
*Why do some people have curly hair and some people have straight hair? Why are some people tall and I’m so damn short? Like how do genes work like that? I need to find a book on it that can help me understand.
*I wonder if anyone would notice if I went all hermit-like and ran away to go live on a deserted island…with all my books. Wait… how would I get my books there? How hard is it to get running water and electricity on an island? Maybe I’ll just go live in the mountains.
10. Give us something that’s your favorite, but make it something oddly specific, not like your favorite food, but like your favorite food when you’ve been studying for hours and forgot to eat. Or, you know, something like that.
Things I like to eat when I’m binge watching TV at home:
I love to put Doritos in my peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. I have been doing that since I has a kid. I also like gummy bears mixed in with my buttery popcorn. I just love the sweet mixed in with the savory.
That’s it for the tag. I will list the people I’m tagging down below. Let’s chat in the comments! Do we have any of these things in common? I’d love to find out.
