Monthly TBR/Wrap-up

March WRAP – UP / April TBR

marchwrapup

March was a great reading month for me. I listened to a lot of audio books and made a dent in on the TBR in my Kindle. Aside from reading, I also got the urge to not only clean up my shelves but organize my blogging schedule. I’m definitely a pantser when it comes to writing and blogging so plotting out my blog posts on a monthly/weekly calendar is an entirely new experience for me. I have to admit it’s working and I’m being more consistent with posting. I’m currently blogging ahead and scheduling my posts about 2 weeks in advance. I’m hoping I can keep up with it. Fingers crossed!

Off the blog, but still book related, I downloaded the Books Amino app on my phone. It is definitely my latest obsession app wise. It’s like a combo of Pintrest, Tumblr, Twitter, and Instagram. It’s totally addicting and I love it!

My November Obsession:

My obsession this month is actually a booktube channel. Chantal is such a sweet and funny booktuber. I’m also totally in love with how she organizes her bookshelf. If you are looking for a great book tube channel to checkout I highly recommend you try her channel bookhands.

Blogs I Stalked:

I love visiting and reading other blogs. I don’t often comment. I usually just like the post or share it on twitter if I feel the need to share it. I know, I know I’m working on the commenting. I really am, maybe you noticed me sneaking in a comment here and there. I’m really trying to show more love and support to the blogs I follow. I know how much work goes into this and how sometimes it feels like you’re just chatting at yourself when no one responds. These blogs are the ones I visited the most this month:

The Book’s the Thing – A great mix of reviews, bookish discussions, book promos, and fun memes. I love how consistent Erika is with posting new content on her blog and interacting with her readers.

Kristen Lamb’s Blog – I love reading Kristen’s posts. She’s so freaking hilarious. Her posts are filled with great tips about writing too. If you are an aspiring writer I would definitely recommend this blog for you.

Girl Plus Books – I pretty much read this blog on the regular. I love the way Tanya delivers her reviews with just enough info to grab me without posting spoilers. I’ve added quite a few books to my TBR list based on her recommendations.

An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir was by far my favorite read this month. It’s a fast paced story that is filled with all the things I could want in an epic read. Suspense, action, romance…it has it all.

The book that completely took me by surprise was All the Missing Girls by Megan Miranda. Holy crap the plot twists! You can find the link to my review that posted earlier this week above.

My least favorite was Everything She Forgot by Lisa Ballantyne. The plot moved way too slow for me. It was told in dual timelines which if done well is absolutely fascinating, unfortunately it didn’t work for me in this book. Most of the time I was completely confused about what was going on and the flow felt choppy.

Okay, so I haven’t been sticking to my TBR lists that I set out in the beginning of the month. I’ve tried, I swear I really have tried. I’m a mood reader though, so what I do finally read really depends on how I’m feeling. I’m going to do my best to get to the books on this list for April, so wish me luck. You’ll notice I’m not being very ambitious with it. I’m leaving myself a lot of wiggle room in case I’m in the mood to read other things. Here’s my TBR for April.

Well that’s a wrap! Have you read any of the books featured in this post? Any idea which book in my April TBR I should start with? Let me know in the comments! Also if you posted a monthly wrap-up please leave a link to your post. I’d love to come check it out ❤

Stay book nerdy & happy reading!

  1. Plotting and scheduling blog posts? What is this strange thing you speak of? 🙂 I am the worst at that and for things like Top Ten Tuesday I always end up scrambling at the last minute. When will I learn? Kudos to you for working to schedule more! Thanks so much for the mention, Andie. It’s always great to hear that someone enjoys what you do and I’m always happy to make someone else’s TBR grow. LOL I try to be consistent about commenting. Yes, it’s time consuming, but I know how much comments can mean so I try to always keep up with them.

    1. I fell off the scheduling wagon! No bueno I know, but I’m hoping to get back on it. It’s so hard when I’m feeling so uninspired and unmotivated about blogging. I wish this funk would just go away already.
I love your blog Tanya 🙂 Keep up the awesome work lady!
