24504048Blurb:
She’s about to make a deal with the college bad boy…

Hannah Wells has finally found someone who turns her on. But while she might be confident in every other area of her life, she’s carting around a full set of baggage when it comes to sex and seduction. If she wants to get her crush’s attention, she’ll have to step out of her comfort zone and make him take notice… even if it means tutoring the annoying, childish, cocky captain of the hockey team in exchange for a pretend date.

…and it’s going to be oh so good.

All Garrett Graham has ever wanted is to play professional hockey after graduation, but his plummeting GPA is threatening everything he’s worked so hard for. If helping a sarcastic brunette make another guy jealous will help him secure his position on the team, he’s all for it. But when one unexpected kiss leads to the wildest sex of both their lives, it doesn’t take long for Garrett to realize that pretend isn’t going to cut it. Now he just has to convince Hannah that the man she wants looks a lot like him.

Review:

Move aside Travis Maddox because Garrett Graham is here! Holy hotness I think I need to start watching hockey because WOWSERS.

The Deal is the first book in the Off-Campus series by Elle Kennedy and follows the relationship between Garrett Graham and Hannah Wells. Garrett is a bad-boy hockey player who desperately needs help keeping up his GPA. Hannah has no interest in Garrett whatsoever, but is completely crushing on a football player in her class. Garrett makes her a deal she can’t refuse. Tutor him and he’ll help her land the football player. Neither one of them are prepared for the chemistry that sparks between them, making their fake relationship all too real.

Garrett Graham is sexy and he knows it. Arrogant and completely unapologetic about it, Garrett is proud of his bad boy ways with no plans to change them. His ego and player reputation are a complete turn-off for Hannah, and she isn’t afraid to call him out on it. I had so much fun reading the quick and witty banter between the two.

“Just out of curiosity,” she says, “after you wake up in the morning, do admire yourself in the mirror for one hour or two?”

“Two,” I reply cheerfully. “I kiss each one of my biceps and then point to the ceiling and thank the big man upstairs for creating such a perfect male specimen.”

She snorts. “Uh-huh. Well, sorry to burst your bubble, Mr. Perfect, but I’m not interested in dating you.”

Hannah is smart and a talented musician. Majoring in music, she is focused on becoming a singer/songwriter. She’s determined to leave a horrible incident in her past behind her and move on with her life. She wants to find a guy that she can trust with her body and her heart. Hannah thinks she has found that guy in a football player in her class. She is thrown for a surprise when Garrett Graham turns out to be the one that opens up her heart.

I had so much fun watching this love/hate relationship unfold. As the story progresses it becomes clear that these two are made for each other. Garrett and Hannah both grow as characters and bring out the best in one another. I absolutely adored Garrett’s transition from playboy to being fully committed once he realizes Hannah is the one for him. He had me swooning one minute and making me want to smack him for being a smart-ass the next. The Deal is one of the best New Adult contemporary romances I’ve read so far year. I can’t wait to see what the rest of the series will be like, especially Dean’s book. If you enjoy quick and witty humor, hot alpha males, and hockey in your romances then definitely pick up the Off-Campus series by Elle Kennedy.
